Hi. In the two pictures there is a small pile of white bits. Perhaps wall board? Been there a while. Have not seen anymore activity. Have not seen bugs.

I suspect this is more likely a mouse active at night than an insect. Wood-boring insects would not show this type of damage.
Consider purchasing mouse traps and/or filling gaps with a bit of steel wool to prevent the mice from returning.
