Nasty cherry cooties #907811

Hello. Please see the photos below of some sort of fungus growing on our cherries. We have a beautiful tree, loaded with fruit. But it has some kind of cootie growing on it! We've never had this before! :( Can you advise? This year's fruit is definitely ruined but what can we do to prevent again? Thank you. Andi

This is brown rot. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about the issue now.

Be sure all shriveled fruits are removed from the ground to remove the risk of infection next season. You may also consider a fungicide application shortly after petal fall. See the linked article for fungicide recommendations.
