... a place where I can buy just several plants. I want it for my shaded front "lawn" but the best I can find is a Georgia company called "Blooming Designs" and I need to buy a minimum of 100 plants Babikow Nursery has them but only sells to businesses. Any suggestions? Thanks....Penny

Extension doesn't generally collect this information or recommend particular businesses, but the new Maryland Native Plants Program (a collaborative effort between several groups, including Extension) is beginning to compile a list of native plant suppliers that voluntarily register with the MDA. The program is so new, however, that few businesses have registered yet, and since it's voluntary to be listed in that database, not all local native plant suppliers may opt to partake. You can also use resources like the two links below to find native plant suppliers in our region, both local and mail-order. Some of the mail-order sources do sell direct to the public in bulk (often trays of plugs in 50-count, 32-count, or higher numbers; generally, the higher the plug count per tray, the younger/smaller the plants are).
