Hello,
the plantt ID app that I used Identified the plant in these photos as Bird's Foot Trefoil. I don't know if that is correct but how do I get rid of it in my yard without using herbicides? Do I just need to pull it up?
Despite the brown grass I have been watering and have fertilized. Thank you for your help.

Hi Bob,
Thank you for using Ask Extension.
I read the following Wikipedia article Lotus corniculatus - Wikipedia Since this plant is in the pea family, it does well in poor soil. If your goal is to have a more uniform lawn with turf, you may want to have a soil test done to determine what deficiencies your soil may have that doesn't support turf.
If you know the variety of grass you have (perennial rye and fine fescue are the most common in the Willamette Valley) you may want to check the height at which you are mowing.
