tomato damage #907657

Asked June 28, 2025, 6:34 PM EDT

I know you (and I) have better things to do, but I'm curious about what would cause this damage on an otherwise healthy tomato plant. I've had several anomalous events this spring including whole plan dying quickly when those on side are fine. Regardless, any idea why one branch tip would apparently have scorch when all others near it are fine? Would a vascular system create such isolated results?

We have had some very high temperatures lately so some leaf damage is not unusual on lots of different plants.  Vulnerability to this type of damage is determined by leaf age, position on plant, and orientation to the sun.  The most important thing is to be sure you are watering the plants enough and they are not drying out. If so, the plant should be able to put out new growth with no problem. If we continue to have high heat and bright sun, you may want to consider using a shade cloth over the plants.
