Thanks for writing in.  Lichen is just fascinating, isn't it?

We currently don't have any lichen experts at OSU Extension.  I recommend instead reaching out to Biology and Plant Pathology professor Bruce Mc Cune.  He retired last year, but is still connected with the department and could connect you with identification resources.

He also authored this online interactive key that you many find helpful: Common Macrolichens of the Pacific Northwest.

Another resource for your consideration is the nonprofit Northwest Lichenologists.  You could submit a photo to their website or facebook page for identification help.
