Eggplant seedlings issue #898481

Asked April 24, 2025, 10:25 AM EDT

Hi, I have 2 of 12 of my eggplant seedlings having leaf issues. See photos. Do you think this is a disease? Should I throw the plants away or see what happens as they keep growing? Thank you!

Expert Response

Hi Lauren,

It is hard to say for sure - verticillium wilt is a common disease of eggplants, causing the leaves to curl inwards and yellow, but it is soil born. It could be another eggplant or leaf spot disease, and you can try removing the affected leaves to see if it recovers. But if it is a soil born issue, you will have to discard of the whole plant and soil, unfortunately.

Best of luck!
