What is the best paint to paint the tree trunk to protect it from the sun and insects?

Good morning,

Using a 50:50 mix of white, indoor latex paint effectively reduces the incidence of sunburn and borers and protects somewhat from rodents. Using latex-based paint allows the tree to "breathe" and helps to reduce moisture buildup under the paint.
