Seeking a lab partner to test chemicals in soil #894854
Asked March 19, 2025, 9:52 AM EDT
Hello there! I am interested in testing soil to determine residual pesticides, chemicals, or other harmful compounds. This is for an urban yard. I would like to use these test results to understand how safe this soil is to grow food and if there is a risk of consuming pesticides that migrate from the soil through the crops that I plant and harvest. Thank you!!

Typically, pesticides in the soil do not translocate into vegetables. That said, I have little knowledge of soil testing procedures for pesticides but certainly the soil testing lab at the University of MN can answer your questions.
