Seeking advice w on type of tree to plant #894808

10 years ago we had to have a flowering cherry tree cut down in our back yard due to black knot disease. We’d like to plant another tree in its place. It’s a south facing yard and we’re wanting it to provide shade for our home. We currently have 3 ash trees and 1 honey locust tree. We are treating the ash trees but are nervous we will eventually lose them.
Any advice on a fast growing tree to help shade our home? And can we plant it where our old cherry tree used to be?
Thank uou,

Maple trees grow the fastest but don’t plant a Norway or Silver maple, they make copious amounts of seed.
A new tree can be planted close to the cherry tree stump.Black knot affects fruit trees.
