Hello! What type of grass seed should I use for a lawn that is 60% sun, 40% shade? We are seniors, so lawn has low traffic. Our lawn is thin with bare patches. We put down black dirt, only about 2" deep and then seeded about a week or so after. It didn't change a single thing. Any suggestions? Also, weeds are healthier than our grass.

See these two web sites. Also how much watering was done on the seed you planted. Watering several times a day may be needed to germinate grass seed.
