Yucca Plant IS POISONOUS #891796
Asked January 22, 2025, 2:14 AM EST
Your expert said the reaction someone had to being stabbed by the tip from the leaf of a yucca plant was unfounded. That guy should not be considered as an expert. The poison in the Yucca plant issteroidal saponin. Very painful and so far i haven't found any rememdy to the pain. It can last for weeks, turns red and swells and stays around. Your so called expert said the reaction the guy had - a typical reaction as previously described. was unfounded as the yucca plant was harmless. THATKIND OF THING LEADS TO DEATH. That is false information you're giving out. Yucca's sure do have toxic spines on the tips of their leaves. The toxicity is called steroidal saponin and it is painful as hell. I'm looking for a remedy as I got stabbed in my eye and it's swelling up worse than a stye and is very, very sore.

Expert Response
Yes, yuccas can cause rashes and dermatitis in sensitive individuals. Not to mention the pain from being stabbed by the sharp tips.
I do not have the medical training or expertise to make any recommendations about your eye other than for you to see an ophthalmologist.
