What is the best way to deal with yellow jackets that having taken up residence in the space between oven/stove exhaust vent and the siding (on the outside of the house?
About a dozen have come into the house by squeezing by the oven vent filter/grill on the inside. I have currently blocked that off with tape and heavy duty cardboard.

Expert Response
To remove a social wasp nest, we recommend you work with a pest control professional that has experience dealing with wasps. Use of a pesticide to kill the colony may be needed, though we don't know what other options pest control operators may have at their disposal. (Some professionals post videos online of using vacuums to remove most of the worker wasps, though even then, some use of wasp spray is probably involved now and then.) The nest can't be successfully relocated, so one way or another, the colony will need to be killed as it is removed. Fortunately, it's late enough in the year that a new nest will not be established even if some individual wasps are missed in the process, especially since worker yellowjackets cannot lay eggs to generate a new colony.
