Expert Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. The Crimson King Maple is a Norway Maple (Acer platanoides 'Crimson King'), and has been described as invasive by several states and has been found 'popping' up in natural areas be its seed dispersal. Some communities have taken it off their tree list.
What city, township or village limits do you live in? Many times the government entity can provide direction, and depending on the municipality could even purchase and plant the tree in the public right away.
I look forward to hearing from you. Amy
