I am late bagging pears against coddling moth. Several pears invaded already. Fruit is now typically 2” - 2-1/2” diameter. Am I wasting my time bagging the still-healthy fruit (no frass or stings)?

Hello Jim,
Bagging apple and pear fruit is generally performed when fruit are smaller in size several weeks after petal fall. If you are concerned with possible damage from pests, there is nothing to prevent you from bagging fruit now until ready to harvest.
