Expert Response
These methods provide effective, non-chemical options for controlling blister beetles in gardens and farms.
Handpicking: Remove beetles by hand, wearing gloves to avoid irritation.
Soapy water: Spray a mixture of mild soap and water on affected plants to suffocate beetles.
Neem oil: Apply diluted neem oil to deter and disrupt beetle activity.
Physical barriers: Use row covers or netting to protect plants from beetle access.
Companion planting: Plant repellent species like marigolds near vulnerable crops.
I've attached a Blister Beetle fact sheet and Horticultural oils if you want more information.
