Yes, you can plant now for fall harvest. Peas are a cool season crop and do not grow well in the heat of summer. They are best planted in spring and while a fall planting may not grow quite as well as a spring planting, it is certainly an option. They may not grow quite as well as in the spring because of the shorter days, meaning less sunlight, and possible heat exposure to the small plants. The ‘Alaska’ variety will likely take about 2 months (or a little over) to get a crop; planting now should get you a harvest in mid to late September. Peas can handle a light frost and your area typically does not get frost until October.
