Either bees or hornets making a nest in my wall or around the dryer exhaust pipe. what I will do depends in part on whether these are bees or hornets/wasps. Can you identify from the attached jpeg and suggest what to do?

I would highly encourage you to reach out to a professional pest management company. Spraying pesticides around a dryer vent can be very dangerous. Once the nest has been removed, I would recommend putting a cover over the pipe, so they do not reenter. Thank you.
