We recently bought an existing home with two linwood trees. The leaves/branches look very clumped and wilted (picture attached). Our neighbor says she didn't notice this last year. Other linwood trees in the neighborhood look great! Do you have an idea on what could be affecting the look of this tree.
There are a lot of flowers, would that be the issue?
Is it common for this type of tree to drop a lot of twigs?
Thank you for your time.

They are notorious for dropping twigs. They are also a major source of nectar for pollinators of all kinds.
You are spot on, many flowers have turned into large clumps of fruit. Fruiting trees usually alternate a year with not much fruit and a year with lots of fruit. Combined with lots of water a high fruit year will have even more.

Lindens have few pests in MN because pests common elsewhere don’t survive here.

So we don't do anything with these two trees? It's odd that this neighborhood has many of them but only the two trees in our new yard looks like the picture we sent.
In my opinion, I don't like how they look but maybe because they look like something is wrong.
Again thank you.

There might be something wrong but I have only a photo to look at and the crispness of the photo isn’t sharp enough to look at much detail. The tree’s color is a healthy green, it is full, the canopy is dense so leaves in the center will be shaded out, branches are hanging down a bit but we just had half an inch of rain and the limbs have a lot of fruit weighing them down without the rain. Those are the factors I considered.
