Expert Response

Hi Gordon,

Nice to hear from you. Most take about a year to complete the Apprentice level. To earn the certification you have to:
  • Complete six self-paced online training modules (which could be completed in 2-3 weekends).
  • Attend a minimum of one field training event covering native bee survey techniques, record keeping, and specimen curation led by certified Master Melittologist instructors, or virtual equivalent
  • Attend a minimum of one microscope training day, or virtual equivalent
  • Attend a minimum of one collection day group outing - accommodations available upon request
  • Earn 20 public service points
Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Andony
