Phragmites australis eradication #874839

There is a patch of P australis growing on the border of my property. It started about 4-5 years ago and it enlarging every year. What’s the best way to remove it and prevent it from establishing?

Thank you for contacting us! P. Australis, common reed grass, is invasive and aggressive as you have seen. I am attaching an article, probably more than you need to know! Basically, you can either use herbicides (glyphosate or imazapyr)...be sure to follow all package directions for application and safety. There are also natural methods, such as underwater cutting and controlled burn. Read through the article to find what will best suit your situation. Best of luck!
