Black Spot #873073

Asked June 14, 2024, 9:13 AM EDT

Every year, after blooming, some of my Brunnera get black blotches on the leaves. How can I prevent and/or treat?

Expert Response

Hi;
Thanks for the question concerning your Brunnera with black spots. It most likely is Foliar Nematodes.
 One thing that you will benefit from is to clean up the blackened tissue and remove it from the site to reduce disease occurrence next year. Make sure watering is done
during the daytime hours so foliage dries off before evening hours.
I have listed links that go into detail of this problem and possible treatments. If you should use the pesticide management suggestion make sure the pesticide is safe to use on your plant and Read and Follow the Label Directions! Also listed is your County OSU Extension Service should you want to contact them for additional assistance.
