Garden Plot Location & Size Help #872625

Asked June 11, 2024, 1:25 PM EDT

Hello, I am looking at planting a garden at our new home and wanting to make sure we utilize the most space and have enough sunlight for all the plants we want to grow. We have a big front yard and would like to have a space for herbs as well if those need to be separate from the veggie/fruit garden. We do have a slight hill on in our front yard and two large trees that may impact plants that need full sunlight. We are wanting to grow the below plants so are interested in how much space we would need as well. This garden is just for my wife and I but would like to be able to produce enough to be able to provide some to our friends, family and neighbors. Ideal Garden plants: - Tomatoes (Roma-sauce & Cherry-salads), Cucumbers (Small-pickles & Other-salads/other uses), Corn (sweet), Jalapeno Peppers, Bell Peppers, Onions (white & red), zucchini, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, Garlic, Watermelon, Raspberries, Strawberries. Herbs/Spices: - Basil, Green onion, rosemary, thyme, dill, cilantro If possible to create a drawing of how these plants should be planted together, what plants compliment each other and which ones shouldn't be together. How much space overall is needed and any other suggestions you may have to help make this garden as great as it can be would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Also, most full-service garden centers employ horticulture design professionals who will visit your site and prepare a plan. In some cases the cost of the plan will be waived or reduced if you purchase plants for the project from the garden center.
