Oak tree not leafing out as past years #871970

One of our oak trees has several branches that did not leaf out this spring. As the photo shows, the top and a few lower branches look good and did leaf out as normal. What's going on? Is there anything we can do for this tree? Do we need to be concerned about the other oak trees on our Moose Lake lot?

There are various reasons your tree could have branch dieback. Some are benign and won't affect other trees.  But among those reasons is oak wilt, and if that is the issue, other nearby oaks are in peril.  You should have a certified arborist assess your tree. Look here for an arborist:
