Roundup and planting Norway spruce trees #871071

Asked June 01, 2024, 3:35 PM EDT

I just sprayed roundup on the lawn to kill the grass where we would like to plant some 6 foot Norway spruce trees.  On the Roundup website it says to wait - 14 Days After Application: for Non-conifer trees and shrubs and 30 Days After Application: Conifer trees and shrubs.  I am confused on why the extended time period for conifer trees.  Thanks

Hello,

Round Up is a brand name that has several different lines of pesticides. Do you by chance know what the active ingredients are listed on the product?

Did you read the instructions about replanting online? Or is it on your product's label? Following is a link to a digital label stating that tree replanting can occur 1 day after application. Label I am assuming this is the proper label considering the product name and active ingredients you listed.

If you read the 30-day wait period online, that difference results from the manufacturer replacing all products containing glyphosate with different chemicals this year.
