I would also recommend perusing the Seed Your Future website. Under resources, there is a a page for Educators, including a page devoted to Educator Grants.
I can help advise you on starting a school garden, helping you think about location, what resources are needed, design ideas, getting community buy-in, etc. I can't provide financial assistance, but I can provide knowledge and guidance.
