Apple trees near water/sewageine #869592

Hello! We have a pair of small Apple trees in our front yard (one a columnar, the other I believe is semi dwarf) both are planted within 5 feet or so of where our water and sewage lines. When the utilities company was out to mark our lines they said I wouldn't have to worry about the roots. Just looking for confirmation and can't find good information.

Hi Ben, 

I agree with the utility company. The trees are dwarf and won't send roots trying to brake into your pipes. Keep them mulched with wood chips as wide as you can and about two inches thick. This will help retain moisture for the tree roots.
