effect on fruit/vegetables if I apply Stump-Out to trunks of nearby saplings #868996

Hello CSU Extension,
I had an alanthus removed a few years ago and still have shoots popping up constantly (the tree service did apply Stump-Out to the main stump). I read through some Extension site that tree and vine poisons, such as Stump-Out, will help with that. I have not been spraying the leaves, just cutting into the trunk and applying it there. My question is whether that will poison nearby fruit trees or vegetable plants or make the produce unhealthy to eat? A couple of the shoots are as close as 2-3 feet away; others are more like 6-10 feet away. I have only applied the Stump-Out once, in the fall after the harvest. The largest shoots are 1-2 inches in diameter, not huge, but still too large to dig out and I know cutting them will just cause other shoots to start up.
Thank you in advance!
