Hello, We live up north and have put new soil and seed down for three years. We keep getting patchy areas with dead grass in the spring. Each spring I decide to give it my best shot again and rake / scrape the old dead grass out, put new dirt down and add good quality seed. Same thing this year, patches of dead grass. Help! I am thinking there is something wrong with the soil. What could it be? Fungus, mold, too wet, pine needles cause too much acid, too much shade?
