Peach tree #868149

Asked May 13, 2024, 9:38 AM EDT

Hello, we have two peach trees, approximately 3 to 4 years old. They have dozens of small peaches for the first time. We have not sprayed them with anything. Should we spray them with some sort of insecticide at this point? If so, what should we use? We are excited about the peaches! Thank you!

Hi Carla,

This is very exciting indeed! There are combination fruit sprays available for sale at local garden centers or box stores. The sprays need to be put on every 7-10 days for high quality fruit production. You can google combination fruit sprays. There are quite a few of them available.

Here is a link to our bulletin: https://cuyahoga.osu.edu/sites/cuyahoga/files/imce/Program_Pages/ANR/DigIn/Controlling%20Diseases%20and%20Insects%20in%20Home%20Fruit%20Plantings%2C%20Bulletin%20780%20%28whole%29.pdf There is a spray schedule for peaches.

Hope this helps.
