Can you tell me who I can bring a very tiny insect specimen to for identification? We recently have very many of these in our home and suspect they are bird mites from a nest near the bedroom window where the infestation was first detected. I don't want to waste money on the wrong specialists to eradicate them, but I sure want them gone asap. Thanks.

You can do one of two things:
1. Call the Franklin County Extension office at <personal data hidden>, or arrange a time to bring a speciman by the office in the
Kunz-Brundige Franklin County Extension Building, locaed at 2548 Carmack Road, Columbus, Ohio 43210.
2. Submit a physical or digital specimen to the C. Wayne Ellett Plant & Pest Diagnostic Clinic. Information for submitting samplse to the clinic, their forms, address, etc. are located on their website at: https://ppdc.osu.edu/submit-sample/insects-and-arthropods.
