Hi,
I accidentally used blood meal instead of bone meal to plant a geum and another orange perennial flower, a ceum, in my garden.
Will it hurt my plants or should I dig them up and replant them. I have no idea whatsoever what kind of soil l have.
Thank you.

Expert Response
Thank you for your question. Blood meal is entirely nitrogen (promotes leaf growth). Bone meal is 3% nitrogen, 15% phosphorus (promotes root growth), and no potassium (flower growth). So, what you applied won't hurt your plant, but will spur on foliage growth. Nothing to worry about. Uprooting your plants will do more harm than the "wrong" fertilizer.
