I fertilize my lawn twice a year using an organic fertilizer from sw fertilizer called earth essentials 5-1-3. when would be the best time for my spring and winterizer applications?

Hello
You can start fertilizing lawns as soon as you've had to mow it 2-3 times. This ensures it is actively growing before applying. This timeframe in Harris County is late March- April, depending on your lawn. Fertilizer can again be applied in fall (Sep/Oct).
Just be sure not to fertilize when lawn is under stress. This includes after a freeze or during/directly after drought. Some believe they can add it to stressed lawn to fix the situation. That only adds more stress.
