Not a big fan of Arborvitaes, in Michigan with its heavy snow falls, primarily because, (for lack of arbor knowledge) multiple trunks. When heavy snow fall hits the tree can't support or shead the snow resulting in a "SPIT" in the tree.
I am looking for a tree that is similar in foliage to an Arborvitaes, but a single trunk. could you point me in the correct direction.
Thank you, for your time and expertise

Hi Loren, I understand you are looking for an evergreen other than arborvitae…one with only one trunk. How large a tree are you looking for, I.e., how tall at maturity, how wide. Do you want a pyramidal shape or columnar? Etc.
Are you wanting a single specimen tree or are you looking to plant a hedge to screen a view? This information will be helpful because there are several to choose from. Thanks.
