Can houseplants be trimmed any time of year? Or only in the spring?

Hi Janet,

Monstera can be pruned at any time of the year, though it might be best to wait until the plant is actively growing (usually in the spring/summer months).

Here is a publication on how to take cuttings and propagate new plants: https://extension.umn.edu/houseplants/propagating-monstera-deliciosa

Stem cuttings are probably easiest. If you just need to trim or shape the plant, then you don't need to worry about the length of cuts, but make cuts at a node or near a leaf bud.
