Plants of this species are dioecious (separate male and female plants) and female plants need a male pollinator in the area in order to bear fruit.
What male is needed?

Almost every plant needs the same species for pollination, so a male I vomitoria would be needed. The males do not have to be very close by as bees can travel long distances to do the pollination. Two I vomitoria I found that are all males plants are the dwarf varieties “Nana” and “Schillings”. There is a “Pendula” at the EMG demonstration garden at the fairgrounds in Raleigh that produces berries and there is no male plant in the garden. I’d never thought about where the male might be! Might need to do some detective work. The other requirement is that the male plant is flowering at the same time as the female in order to produce berries.
