My brussel plants stalks are thick, and don't seem to be producing fruit. Any ideas?

Hi there, thanks for your patience through the holidays!

Brussel sprout production could be impacted by many factors (how they were planted, watered, fertilized, sun/heat exposure) so it's hard to tell why your plants didn't produce without tracking all of those factors throughout the season.

One initial thought is that brussel sprouts usually do require fertilizer unless the soil is particularly fertile.

This is a good article on growing brussel sprouts: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/brussels-sprouts/brussels-sprouts-problems.htm

Hope it helps for next time, but let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, I think that's exactly the reason, I didn't fertilize well enough. I have some going in a different (amended soil) part of the garden and they are producing.
Appreciate your help!

They're heavy feeders, those brussel sprouts!

Happy to help!
