New construction lawn #805524

Asked August 09, 2022, 8:19 PM EDT

Hello, we just moved into a new construction house with half acre yard. Obviously the current lawn condition is not good due to time the seed was put down and being that it is contractors grade seed, it appears to be mostly ryegrass. I have steadily been removing all rocks and weeds as they appear my plan is to aerate and over seed sometime in the beginning of September. My question is, is this the best course of action to get things going in the right direction? Thank You.

Of course the assumption is that you live in Delaware so I'll answer accordingly. Aerating and over seeding in early September is exactly the best time of the year to give the newly germinated grass seeds time to get established before winter.
