Can I use up outdated coffee in the garden? Will it help hydrangeas be blue? Will acid loving plants like it? Will it be harmful?

Thank you for your gardening question. Coffee grounds can be great in the garden or added to the compost bins. I haven't found any information about using outdated coffee.
