A lot depends on where the red skin is showing and what the cause is. First, make sure that there are no external parasites.
See article on external parasites at EXTERNAL PARASITES OF POULTRY – Small and backyard poultry (extension.org)
Next - make sure there is no feather pecking problem in the flock.
See article on feather pecking at FEATHER PECKING AND CANNIBALISM IN SMALL AND BACKYARD POULTRY FLOCKS – Small and backyard poultry (extension.org)
If the problem is the back or back of the head - do you have roosters? A lot of feathers get pulled away during mating. Adding a saddle to the back may help. See examples at Chicken Saddles – The Chicken Coop Company
You want the skin to recover and feathers to grow back. If necessary, you can use an ointment to help with the healing - Hen Healer™ Ointment - Premier1Supplies
