Phlox Blue Moon #793205

Asked May 29, 2022, 2:01 PM EDT

I planted these last fall do this was the first Spring. It looks like my Blue Moon Phlox has finished blooming for this season. Should I cut the stems back or just deadhead the flowers. Is there anyway to get a second bloom ?

Expert Response

Hi Steven,
You don't need to do anything to the phlox unless you want to. The dead blooms will eventually fall off.  I would not cut it back unless it is spreading into areas you don't want it to.
Unfortunately, there is no second bloom.
