Hi there --
Trying to decide whether the compost offered at Ramsey county public sites is likely to contain baby jumping worms or eggs of same. I already have them in my yard and it's distressing! But I do like to use a lot of compost.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Susan

Expert Response
If you already have them getting mulch from a contaminated source isn’t going to make things worse.
Ramsey is making a legitimate effort to provide pest free compost. They monitor the temperature of the piles to make sure it achieves the proper temperature for the necessary number of days.
