Growing veggies in a container #783343

Asked March 06, 2022, 2:55 PM EST

I was informed that the minimum sized container for growing zucchini is 15 gallons. Is that the size per plant or is it 15 gallons for a group of plants, like 3 or 4? Thanks, Scott

Expert Response

Hello Scott,

The absolute minimum size is probably a little bit smaller, but a 15-gallon container would be better, yes. One plant is all we would recommend growing in that size, since more would be too crowded in terms of competition between roots. If you must grow more than one zucchini plant in that pot, try to limit it to two.
