I have a wall oven in a ranch home built in 1960's. My Neighbor just informed me that hers has brick and or stone in the wall behind the oven. I am wanting to take this out completely if I remodel kitchen. I am having a foundation inspection next Monday and I plan to ask this question to them as well. I so pray that this can be removed as I want to open up the kitchen to living room.

Julie, it sounds like you are taking the right approach to have an expert inspect the foundation as well as be sure structurally you can take out the oven and remove the wall. I suggest you ask if the wall is load bearing and what it will take to get the job done, if there are any hidden costs, and if you will need to hire a professional contractor.
