What are these tiny bugs on my window screens and sills. #774400

Asked October 06, 2021, 1:06 PM EDT

I flicked the a screen (thinking it was seeds stuck there) and a bunch of then jumped into my house and on me! They seem to walk, not fly. They are on all of my screens, but there seems to be more on east side - literally 1000s. 1/8 inch long or less, and thin. Narrow, spade-shaped body. Heads have pointy sides. Not too long Antennae. See photos. Thanks!

Do you happen to have a hackberry tree nearby?  They could be hackberry psyllids.  They are active during the fall and small enough to slip through screens.  If not please send another less blurred closeup picture from a couple of different angles.

Thank you, Mary!  It’s hard to get a clear image of these little ones, but I’m sending a short video and better photos I hope.

I think you are right that they are hackberry psyllids.  What distance should I search for the tree?  (“Nearby” is vague but they probably can’t jump too far I would think.)  Thanks for your help.

The video did not come through.  This is the tree you would be looking for:
