Frost bite or lack of watering? #765252

Asked August 02, 2021, 2:02 PM EDT

This spring I planted all my frruit and vegetables in the house then replanted them out side the weekend after Easter. May of them had a yellowish tint to the edges. Then died in June. I am proficient in gardening in Lane, Oregon. But looks like I have a bunch to learn here in comanche county Oklahoma. Does the extension do free or low cost classes / demonstrations here like they did there?

Comanche County Oklahoma

Expert Response

Sometimes the extension office offers programing on gardening so check with your Comanche County OSU Extension Office - <personal data hidden>, 611 SW C Ave., Lawton, OK 73501.

We also have a lot of information online. You can access all our fact sheets at

https://extension.okstate.edu/fact-sheets/index.html and you can view all our episodes of the television show Oklahoma Gardening on their YouTube Channel - https://www.youtube.com/user/OklahomaGardening (also airs on OETA Saturdays at 11am and Sunday at 3).

The transition from indoors to outside can be tricky and tough on plants. We generally recommend acclimating them slowly by moving them outside for several hours a day for several days before permanently moving them outdoors. We also had an unusual spring with mild and wet conditions for so long that many plants struggled to get well established, especially the warm-season plants that like warm air and soil temperatures.
