The core vaccine protocol for both sheep and goats is very simple. However, timing depends on previous vaccination history and whether you are breeding. The basic program is simply a CD&T vaccine annually. Young animals not previously vaccinated need an initial vaccination followed by a booster 3-4 weeks later. If you are breeding teh females should be vaccinated 4-5 weeks before giving birth. For babies born to vaccinated mothers the initial vacination can be delayed until 8 weeks of age. Babies born to unvaccinated mother should first be vaccinated at 1 week of age and repeat in 3-4 weeks.
Other vaccines are only recommended on an as needed basis.
