In one picture I can see webbing and stippling on the leaves.  It appears that the plant may have spider mites which could cause the dropping of new leaves.  Typically when tropical plants are brought inside for the winter, these insects then have no natural control (predators, rain, etc.) which allows them to flourish. 

Treat with an insecticidal soap product per label directions.
