Asked May 09, 2020, 6:10 PM EDT
I was at my shop in boise, Idaho with my friends and we found a spider! Is it a brown recluse? We looked at a ton of photos and we are not sure. We need to know if it is deadly orr poisonous?

The brown recluse spider, Loxosceles reclusa, range is far away from southern Idaho (Boise). Here is the known scientific range: https://entomologytoday.org/2018/01/29/brown-recluse-pest-management-tips-for-the-spider-thats-not-a.... All spiders in southern Idaho have venom, few are "poisonous" to humans/pets/mammals. This appears to be a crab spider (Family: Thomisidae), based on the photos and the length of the two first pairs of legs and how they are oriented. Brown recluses are not known to be found in Idaho, though if you suspect it is they are VERY easy to identify from other spiders. If you have further questions feel free to ask them.
Hope this helps and best wishes,
