Soil testing labs in Jackson or Josephine County #615920

I want the pH of several soil samples tested, by a local lab to which I can deliver the soil samples. I live in Ashland. Are there any labs that do this in my area (Medford area. Or if I must drive further, I guess I could go as far as Grants Pass). Thanks. WR

Hi and thanks for contacting Ask an Expert. I contacted the OSU Extension office in Jackson County, their master gardeners do not do the tests. Linn County master gardeners do it free of charge while you wait, however, that is quite a drive. You can purchase test kits in nursery stores for about $5 if you want to do it yourself. In my opinion this will give you an idea of where your pH is but it is not as accurate as a Laboratory test. I am attaching a list of labs that OSU has put together for you to choose from. I forgot to mention that you can mail your samples in, you do not have to take them to the Labs.
